Context Engineering

The module teaches context engineering with Vercel's AI SDK and the OpenRouter API: writing system prompts, managing the context window, and summarizing a conversation so an AI app neither crashes nor forgets important details. Its super challenge is a browser app that summarizes earlier messages as the conversation grows. On your own machine, it needs only an .env file with your OpenRouter key and a model ID.

These pages accompany the Context Engineering module of Scrimba's AI Engineer Path. They don't replace the lessons; they hold the setup detail that changes faster than a recorded scrim can, so it can be corrected here instead of re-recorded.

The pages

Running Context Engineering locally is for when you've downloaded the summarization challenge from the lesson menu and want it running on your own machine. It covers what to install first, how to install the project and connect it to OpenRouter, and the errors most learners hit on the way.

More pages for this module will be added here as they're written.
